Visual media refers to digital imagery that is visually consumed and utilized, encompassing not only 2D content delivered through TV, mobile devices, and the internet, but also VR/AR footage and volumetric spatial imagery.
  • UHD/8K/16K High-Definition 2D Video
  • VR/AR Video Using HMDs and Related Devices
  • Multi-view 3D, Light Field, and Holographic Volumetric Imagery
The digital visual media has been expanding both in quality and quantity, and as it converges with artificial intelligence to become increasingly intelligent and sophisticated, its technologies and services are spreading into other industries such as autonomous driving, defense, healthcare, and education. Accordingly, the importance and impact of the visual media sector is expected to grow even further in the years ahead.
The core technologies driving visual media research include “Image Processing”, “Machine Learning”, and “Computer Vision”. Our lab aims to contribute to building a more immersive digital world through the international standardization of the technologies we develop.
