2026 Visual Media Lab. 학부연구생 모집

연구실 소개

우리 연구실은 딥러닝 기반의 영상처리 및 컴퓨터비전 기술을 연구하고 있으며, 특히 _data-efficient_하게 영상처리 및 컴퓨터비전 task를 수행하기 위한 연구 및 국제표준화를 중점적으로 진행하고 있습니다.

현재의 research focus는 대략 아래와 같습니다.

  • Neural image & video coding (including generative video coding)
  • Visual feature compression for machine vision
  • 3D Gaussian splat & digital hologram coding

지원 자격

  • 우리 연구실 대학원 진학에 관심 있는 학생으로서

  • 발표 검증: 간단한 주제(예: CNN 등)에 대해 발표 및 질의 응답 (문맥 파악 및 소통 가능 여부 확인)
  • 코딩 검증: 간단한 코딩 문제 풀이를 통해 기본 코딩 역량 확인

Ph.D. student Seungmi Choi’s paper has been accepted to ACM Multimedia 2025.

ISO/IEC JTC1/SC 29 151th MPEG - Feature Coding for Machine

Ph.D. student Hyewon Jeong’s 2 proposals for the ISO/IEC 23888-4 MPEG-AI Feature Coding for Machine international standard have been adopted.

Selected for 2025 Global Research Lab (BRL)

Prof. Hwi-Yong Kim’s research team has been selected for the 2025 Global Research Lab (BRL) support program, receiving ₩1.5 billion in research funding over 3 years starting June 2025.

Suyong Bahk won the Outstanding Student Paper Award at the 2024 KSBE Undergraduate Research Paper Competition.

IEEE VR 2024

3 papers have been accepted at IEEE VR 2024 (BK Outstanding International Conference).

Yeongwoong Kim’s paper has been accepted to IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology (TCSVT).

2023 Korean Society of Broadcast Engineers (KSBE)

HyunDong Cho won the Best Paper Award (1st Place) at the 2023 KSBE Undergraduate Research Paper Competition.

2023 Samsung Global Technology Symposium (GTS)

Hyunmin Ban received the SHARE Award at the 2023 Samsung Global Technology Symposium (GTS).
